7 Must-Eat Foods For A Better Body And Brain

Some days a fellow can find himself not up to par.  The feeling of grogginess, lack of energy, weakness, and memory problems can arise.  It’s often due to one thing, a diet lacking in proper nutrition.  The brain regulates the body and if you don’t feed it properly, give it the vital nutrition it needs to process data, the body will begin to operate improperly.

Foods For A Better Body And Brain

Instead of chugging down pharmaceuticals a guy needs to think in terms of low calorie but highly nutritious foods that supply the brain and body with foods that are tasty yet both preventative and remedial.  Let’s look at seven foods that you should make part of your diet for betting thinking and action.

Coffee

Coffee is a wonder drink that for Europeans and Americans has been a mainstay for hundreds of years.  These had been used by Native Americans for thousands of years and when introduced to Europe became a hit to both royalty and commoners alike.

Coffee, as we know it today, isn’t like it was hundreds of years ago.  It was bitter and gooey.  As sugar entered the picture and better processing it has become a staple of many people’s diets and a multi-billion dollar agricultural product.

Scientists are routinely finding more benefits to coffee including a recent study that found that two or more cups of this ambrosia seems to prevent cancers to an alarming ratio.  It perks up the mind and provides essential anti-oxidants that prevent free radicals from compromising the body and mind’s functions.  If caffeine affects your sleep, then decaffeinated coffee is in order.  The studies show that it also helps in a myriad of ways.

Dark Chocolate

Dark chocolate is another agricultural product that hit Europe by storm hundreds of years ago.  It too was bitter and processed differently than today.  As sugar, nuts, berries were added, chocolate rose to the top of the food chain as a favorite for snacking and just downright pleasure.  People went chocolate crazy, and it’s one of the most sought-after and processed agricultural products in the world.  So much so that there have been several chocolate shortages during history.

It provides energy and crucial anti-oxidants.  Vitamins and minerals that help with the cardiovascular system and other body processes.  The mind sharpens, and it helps in the prevention of fatty deposits in the brain and the collection of free radicals.  It can also help to flush toxins out of the system thus allowing for the body and brain’s cells to better respiration and digestion.  Some studies show powerful data that it also prevents and rids the body of cancers.

The active man whether in the office or the sports field can benefit from dark chocolate.  If sugar is a problem, then you can brave it with adding honey or a natural sweetener.  You can buy raw chocolate and make up your recipes.  It stores easy, and you can carry it like the old timers did on long journeys and hikes and bite off a bit for that extra burst of energy and mental sharpness.

Blueberries

It is incredible, and astonishing as to the power of blueberries.  It’s probably the only fruit that you could live off.  Blueberries have risen to the top of agricultural products that has had scientists and nutritionists with their mouths agape at how powerful a food they are.

Blueberries are crammed with anti-oxidants.  One of the most powerful sources of anti-oxidants there is!  Not only that they’re loaded with all the vitamins and minerals you need and more.  Just looking at the average bear will show you why they love blueberries.

They aid in building strong bones, teeth, muscle, and metabolism.  They aid in flushing out toxins and preventing cancers studies have found.  They’re easy to prepare as additions to other foods like buns, bread, pancakes and can be carried around for snacking all day.

You’ll be hard-pressed to find a doctor who will argue with you regarding blueberries.  They should be part of everyone’s diet no matter the sex or age.

An active man should make blueberries a part of his diet as they’ll aid his mental processes as well as bodily functions.

Nuts & Grains

For great sources of vital Omega 3 fatty acids and other nutrients, you can’t beat nuts and grains.  They’re tasty, easy to carry, preserve wonderfully and are cheap.  The variety of nuts and grains available are like a smorgasbord of healthy treats and snacks.  You can eat them straight off the vine or out of a can or bag, and you can carry a lot of them and munch on all day.

Even the busy executive chap can make good of a handful of nuts and grains that will keep his mind and body rolling for the entire day.  Athletes will benefit greatly from these foods much like the spectators of their events do.  You can add them to other foods as well for a health boost addition, and there are no harmful side effects.

They lower cholesterol levels and help with the cardiovascular system.  You’ll not find any intestinal distress either.  Add them to salads and ground up in power drinks and the massive amount of proteins and essential amino acids will put on that extra muscle and raise testosterone levels to healthy levels.  The ancient warriors of old and hunting mountain men of legend often carried nuts and grains to munch on, and they made history.

Fatty Fish

Since it’s theorized humanity arose from the seas, it’s no wonder that fatty fish is just what the doctor ordered when it came to a good healthy addition to any diet.  It’s not wise to eat too much too often due to mercury levels, but the essential Omega 3 fatty acids will provide the mind and body with powerful preventative and remedial nutrition, that’s why people are turning to cod liver oil for example.

Make sure you get wild caught instead of farmed fish as wild fish doesn’t have the questionable additives to the meat.  Men love to fish, and you can add fresh fish to your diet and have fun too.  Get a fishing buddy or a get the team or family together or even your co-workers and find a fishing spot.

Thanks to the cleaning of lakes, ponds, and rivers of recent, the fish populations are coming back and getting fatter by the hour.  In some areas, the trout and bass are coming in at 30 to 50lbs!  Just one is enough to feed a man for a month!  You’ll get healthy, save money and enjoy the peaceful and adventurous fishing fun.

Berries In General

We’ve spoken about the plus side of blueberries, but there are a plethora of berries that add lots of nutrition to a fellow’s diet.  Don’t think because they’re berries and they’re sweet and cute that they’re not manly.  That is the farthest thing from the truth.  Great warriors and hunters carried berries with them on their campaigns as they provided vital energy and essential vitamins and minerals.

It will take some trial and error to find that berry that suits you best but just how you feel after eating them and noticing their effect on you is fine.  You might take statistics along with your doctor to see if adding a certain amount of a particular berry is benefiting which body and mental systems.  At the end of the day blackberries, pomegranate, raspberries and the like will hit you with anti-oxidants and vitamin c and more for a healthier you all around.

Beans, Beans, Are Good For Your Heart

Well, we all remember that schoolyard song about beans and that funny scene in the western comedy “Blazing Saddles”.  Well, the truth is that beans of any kind are a super benefit for an active man.  Beans provide proteins, essential fatty acids, and glucose.  All of these nutritional pluses are just what a growing male human, adult man, and senior man needs.

They’re also loaded with essential fiber too.  You can eat beans with every meal, and they’re generally easy to prepare.  Baked beans are a favorite everywhere, and you can add your favorite veggies and meats to them. Fans of old western movies or campers know the value of having beans around.

They’re easy to carry and prepare and are very tasty.  Let us not forget the essential fatty acids too.  Capt. Kirk, Spock, and Dr. McCoy enjoyed beans in the movie “Star Trek: The Final Frontier” so if it’s good enough for a starship crew they’re good enough for you.

Final Word

A man needs to be on his A-Game all day long, and nutritious foods are a major part of making the day go successfully.  If you’re an active and athletic guy and you also have to use your mental processing powers to make things go right.

Check with your doctor and see if they will get you a nutritionist to help you find out which of these healthy foods is right for you.  After a short while, you’ll see the benefits and the future will be a sharp-minded and vigorous chap that others will admire.
