Legal steroids, sold as an over-the-counter supplement, assist bodybuilders in gaining muscle. Likewise known as MIPS (multi-ingredient pre-workout supplements), these are deemed“lawful steroids” if they do not fall into the “illegal” category.
Anabolic-androgenic steroids are artificial types of the male sex hormone testosterone that can occasionally be used illegally.
It’s feasible for individuals with muscle wasting or testosterone production diseases to take these hormone complements for their circumstances if stipulated by a medical practitioner.
Nevertheless, various athletes and bodybuilders illegally abuse these supplements to amp up muscle gains.
Some legal steroids have been backed up by science and aren’t completely dangerous. Whereas some may be absolutely useless or actually induce damage.
The following list is acceptable supplements one may take in smaller doses, as well as ones that are deemed unsafe. As with all supplements, be certain they are not made with extra ingredients that may cause an allergic reaction to you.
Creatine is naturally found in many foods. Many shopping centers will sell it to help that training amp up their muscles.
Creatine has many advantages. It was found that bodybuilders who took creatine gained muscle fibers nearly three times as much as those who didn’t.
Known also as Dimethylamylamine, DMAA is an unlawful supplement that can cause serious damage to the body. The FDA has warned individuals that DMAA should not be used as it can cause the following:
- Heart attack

Also known as matrix metalloproteinase, MMP is a combination of betaine, creatine, and dendrobium extract. It is generally safe to take and is often marketed under the name Craze or other names. However, it does not provide the results many would like. A study found that individuals who used MMP for 6 weeks didn’t have any muscle gains or boost in performance. But they did see an improvement in energy and concentration.
